KEEPING AN EYE ON PUBLIC MATTERS
Public-i have launched their groundbreaking social media platform Citizenscape forming a link between local government and local social media conversations. The product launch is the first in a series of product updates and launches that are empowering communities and supporting councils with their remit. Neo is consulting on the brand and marketing for Public-i.


CLIMATE CONTROL FOR DUMMIES
Neo has worked with Greenpeace International to create their 10 Easy Steps to Cut Car Emissions: Climate Control Manual campaign, in response to demands by European car manufacturers to delay legislation on carbon emissions targets until 2015. The campaign demonstrated ways that manufacturers could meet the original targets and someone must have been listening, as MEPs have since voted to reject these demands.


GIVING THE SECTOR A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME
Neo’s new training service launched with a bang with a day of FREE workshops that left participants ‘impressed’, ‘inspired’ and ‘entertained’. More than 50 professionals from the not-for-profit sector packed out The Hub in Kings Cross to enjoy a range of taster sessions on writing, branding, presenting, PR, creative thinking and strategy.
Other attendees included Macmillan Cancer Support, Brighton and Hove City Council, Groundwork London, Refugee Action, The Hansard Society, The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture and NHS National Patient Safety Agency.


A NEW LOOK FOR ACTIONAID'S MAGAZINE
Neo is currently working on the second edition of ActionAid's new look supporters’ magazine Action. The first edition of Action was featured in Design Week and generated a whopping 70% increase in donations from readers at a time when most of the sector is experiencing a downturn in charitable giving. ActionAid’s Design and Print Manager, Phil Hesmondhalgh said, '‘Our supporters are very forthright people, and when we asked them what they wanted from their magazine they told us it needed to be modern and engaging, without being overly glossy and expensive. Neo were able to offer superb creativity without compromising our budget or brand as a charity.’


REVIEWING THE HEALTH OF NHS COMMUNICATIONS
Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust are celebrating their first year as Foundation Trust with a feature Annual Review for 2008/09 produced by Neo. This work adds to Neo's growing portfolio of Health and NHS related projects.
MAKING A SONG AND DANCE FOR BRIGHTON FESTIVAL
Brighton Festival is the largest event of its kind in England. As part of Neo's continued support for the Arts we have been working with the Festival to produce a video snapshot highlighting its diversity and creativity. Neo appointed editor Robert Dee and worked with True Sound Studio to produce a festival inspired soundtrack for the film.


NEO GETS SLIMED
Neo has produced a teaching resource on behalf of Renaissance South East. The SLIME (Science Links in the Museum Education) publication aims to raise awareness of how museums can support science and to encourage teachers to use museums to inspire and enhance science learning.


NEO CREATES ONE GREAT CAMPAIGN FOR GREEN PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT
The “One Great Place To Work” campaign will help promote the award-winning One Brighton project, which is the country’s most environmentally advanced mixed-use development of its size. As well as promoting the great office accommodation that will soon be available at One Brighton, our campaign will celebrate the fact that our home city is one of the best great small cities in the world. NEO PRODUCES ORBIS UK ANNUAL REVIEW
Orbis UK have just published their 2008 Annual Review produced by Neo. 2008 was a special year for Orbis UK. As a beneficiary of the Lord Mayor of London's Appeal 2008 the charity was able to set up two child friendly eye centres in Rajasthan, India and also to expand their capacity building programme.


NEO DESIGNS BRIGHT NEW WEBSITE
Neo has been working with the Drug & Alcohol Service for London (DASL) on a new website and communications strategy. DASL provides services for people with drug and alcohol problems in communities that are currently underserved and hard to reach, and here at Neo we’re hoping that reach can now stretch a little further.


NEO AWARDS GREEN BUSINESSES
Neo has announced the winners of the awards for best stands at this year’s UK Aware, the country’s leading sustainability show. Around 100 organisations committed to a greener future exhibited at the show and we were there to select the best stands as part of our ongoing sponsorship of the event. Not surprisingly the entire Neo team leapt at the opportunity to pass judgment of the great and the good.

WISHING YOU ALL A HOPPY CHRISTMAS
The world’s first ever Space Hopping Santa Race took place this month with a bit of help from Neo.
Around 50 Santas bounced along Brighton and Hove seafront as part of the Neo-backed Bounce Your Balls testicular cancer campaign.
Neo has continued to provide branding, marketing and PR support for the campaign in 2008 securing extensive TV, radio and newspaper coverage and helping to raise thousands for male cancer charities.

CHANGING THE WORLD WITH CROSS-STITCH
Neo created a novel way to inspire greener lifestyles at the LONDON AWARE event (see below).
The Room For Change was a virtual living room decorated with eco-friendly products and installations, designed by Neo to give consumers everyday ideas for greener living. Installations included a goat made from hubcaps (to encourage people to consider buying ethical or recycled gifts) and a toilet full of mobile phones to communicate how recycling your mobile can fund capital projects in the third world (as well as highlighting the dangers of texting on the toilet).You can see more pictures of the Room For Change – with its unique

GOING COCOA LOCO
The kind people at Cocoa Loco sent the Neo studio a box full of their delectable Organic Chocolate this week for us to sample.
There are many reasons why we like Cocoa Loco with their strong environmental values, Fairtrade policy and Soil Association certification, not to mention their amazing brownies.
We recommend that you try them out for yourself. Just don’t fall into the same trap as Rachel, who was working late one evening and suddenly became seriously overcome with Cocoa Loco fever.


SUPPORTING THE ARTS IN BRIGHTON
For the third year running, Neo sponsored the annual Brighton Festival, which is the biggest arts festival in England. We were delighted that many of our clients joined us to enjoy the breathtaking ‘bahok’, by the Akram Khan Company and the National Ballet of China. Neo have also been engaged by the festival to produce a promotional DVD.


A SAFER STROLL ALONG THE SEAFRONT
Brighton and Hove City Council are undertaking a consultation to improve the environment and safety of the city, and Neo’s creative team was happy to help out with some visualisations, bringing to life a future vision of Brighton Seafront.


PUTTING OUR STAMP ON FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT
Neo is helping a pioneering British company to mark Fairtrade Fortnight with the launch of the first ever Fairtrade-certified olive oil and olives, direct from Palestinian farms. Zaytoun CIC offers small-scale farmers, often working under extremely difficult conditions, not only a fair price and a chance to expand and improve their production, but also the opportunity to sustain a livelihood with dignity and security. Neo is working in partnership with Zaytoun, developing a marketing strategy and media relations campaign as well as the branding and packaging to increase the promotion and distribution of this great tasting, life changing organic olive oil.

ENDING HOMELESSNESS TOGETHER
Neo continues to work with Homeless Link, a national umbrella organisation that has set the ambitious goal of ending homelessness in England by 2022. Homeless Link is currently promoting its annual conference in July, a project that has seen us roll out some of the design themes and messages we created for the charity’s annual report.


TAKE A STAND AT FORUM3
Forum3 is the UK's only recruitment event for thr not-for-profit sector.
Neo have been engaged to increase audience interaction at the event in October. We will be unveiling a new feature called Take A Stand – an impromptu speakers’ area, designed to celebrate the huge array of talent currently working in the not-for-profit sector. Throughout the event, a range of inspiring people will take to their soapboxes and share their passion for working in the sector with job-seekers, exhibitors and passers-by.

NEO TO PRODUCE GREENPEACE INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL REPORT
Greenpeace International is soon to publish it's Annual Report for 2007. Neo are delighted to have been appointed to design the publication which highlights their campaigning activities over the past year. Keep an eye out for our designs which will be revealed in the next few weeks.


GET ON COURSE WITH NEO TRAINING
Neo is launching a series of communications training courses starting with a free taster day on the 25th November. The training is led by our Communications Director, Glen Poole, who draws on years of experience working on high profile campaigns as a writer, strategist, PR man and media spokesman to deliver courses that are effective and inspirational. Glen has trained professionals of all levels of experience, from a wide range of organisations including Greenpeace, Crisis, Sport England and numerous public sector organisations. All Neo courses are fun and interactive and designed to give you practical skills that you can apply straight away. Courses will be held at The Hub, an exciting new venue in Kings Cross that has been set up to inspire and support imaginative and enterprising initiatives for a better world. NETWORKING WITH BOND
Neo have successfully tendered to redesign The Networker, BOND's bi-monthly publication carrying features and news on funding, policy and other issues of strategic importance to the third sector. The newly designed issue is due to be published by the end of September. BOND (British Overseas NGOs for Development) is the United Kingdom's broadest network of voluntary organisations working in international development. Please note the visuals are only concepts at this stage.


GETTING CREATIVE WITH CIDA
CIDA (Creative Industries Development Agency) have appointed Neo to support their communications activity. Initial projects include designing the Autumn Programme and creating brands for range of creative initiatives.


HAVING A PHYSICAL IMPACT WITH CCPR
CCPR (Central Council for Physical Recreation) have just launched their impact report for 2007. The report has been designed and produced with the three strands of the organisation being reinforced by an innovative three-in-one format devised by Neo. NEO SETS THE STAGE FOR ETHICAL TRADE
Neo's creative team recently designed the new identity for Ethical Trading Initiative, which was unveiled at the organisation's 10th anniversary conference. Neo designed the stage set, produced screen visuals and delivered an array of conference literature inside and outside the main venue. The conference (held on 23 October) marked and celebrated the organisation's achievements in promoting human rights at work. Neo also produced the Ethical Trading Initiative Annual Review 2007/2008 which was also launched at the event.


CREATING POLICY TO TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE
Neo has been appointed to create the visual identity for the Global Climate Network set up by the think tank IPPR, to tackle climate change. The network will comprise worldwide leading international figures from the areas of politics, business and civil society, who will join forces to develop policies to tackle climate change. IPPR is considered to be the UK’s leading progressive think tank and aims to produce cutting edge research and policy ideas with a focus on social justice, democracy and sustainability.


TIS THE SEASON TO SAVE ENERGY
Neo recently created an eco winter wonderland for the Energy Saving Trust's showcase event featuring 35 of the most energy saving products on the market. The event was held at The Old Laundry in London. Neo's set was made entirely of eco-friendly, fairtrade, recycled or sustainably produced props and materials. The 'Green Queen', Lorraine Riley and 'The Energy Doctor', Adam Vaughan from Smartplanet, were on-hand throughout the day to provide essential energy saving advice.

MAKING THE UK MORE GREEN AWARE
Following the successful 'Room for Change' at LONDON AWARE 08, the UK’s green consumer event. Neo have created the brand for UK Aware and is currently producing their website. Look out for the UK Aware area at Forum3 in October.
